Dr. Datta is a historian of British Empire and Asian history. Her research explores the everyday experiences of labor migrants within the context of the British Empire and has been recognized for its excellence with several awards. Her recent book is about travelling Ayahs in Britain and details the struggle of these women as they navigated work and life in this colonial setting. Reception will follow lecture.
