https://bit.ly/3Y8S5EGThe Josiah Fletcher Jazz Camp is a two-day music camp hosted at Pittsburg State University on Monday, June 9 and Tuesday, June 10.
The camp is open to students in the southeast Kansas area completing the 6th through 12th grades. It is designed to meet the needs of those students who are interested in jazz at all levels, providing an instructional and educational experience for both beginners and more advanced students.
The camp is open for standard big band instrumentation (Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, Bari Sax, Trumpet, Trombone, Drumset, Bass, Guitar, and Piano) Students will have an opportunity to study jazz with the camp’s outstanding jazz faculty and other fine musicians from around the area.
Participants will participate in the following:
Big Band
Jazz Theory
Improvisation
Master classes
Participants also will have an opportunity to perform for family and friends at a final concert on Tuesday, the last day of camp.
Please submit your nominations for the camp as soon as possible as space is limited. Nominations will not be accepted after Tuesday, April 29.
Students/Directors will be notified about their nominee's acceptance status by Monday, May 5. If a student is accepted, the $50 registration fee will be due on the first day of camp.
